FireWire

If your DV camera or portable hard drive is starting to collect dust, it might be because you don't have a cable capable of igniting the true potential of its native transfer rate. If you notice an icon depicting a circle with three columns of bands flanking it, you need a Firewire cable to reawaken your device.

It's true. Firewire never quite had its day, as USB, even when it was the slower technology, managed to stick around and maintain its position as the standard for hardware transfer. But if your device has the option for both USB and Firewire, it's almost certain the later will be much faster and more reliable than the version of the former that's available on your camera or hard drive.

Our collection of Firewire cables includes both the 400 Mbps and 800 Mbps variants of the cable. And we also offer adapter for bridging one version to the other. And we also carry Firewire extension that'll give you 10 or 100 extra meters.
